Pure air is used with FID, NPD and FPD detectors utilised in gas chromatography. It can also be used with process and environmental analysers as a zero or optical purge gas.
The CryoService range of pure air generators provides a genuine alternative to gas cylinder supply. Unlike gas cylinders, which require continuous changeover, our gas generators can run 24 hours a day if required. Therefore, the return on your investment can be realised within 18 months. Not only do you have increased capacity but you also reduce health and safety risks as there is no need for high pressure storage or potential injuries due to manual handling of cylinders.

Lower Lifetime Costs - Certain pure air generators use membrane technology which degrades over time and only has a guaranteed life of 1 year and results in high ongoing costs. All of our generators use Pressure Swing Adsorption technology that requires no maintenance and also has a minimum 10 year life. Our generators have also been designed to minimise the time taken for general/routine maintenance, with 2,000 hours (replacement filters) and 4,000 hours (compressor change) maintenance limited to only 30 minutes.
All generators are supplied with economy and standby modes to save on your electrical costs and reduce wear on the generator parts. Standby mode is automatic and is activated when gas demand falls.
High Performance - All pure air generators are fitted with a specifically designed platinum-palladium catalytic reactor, which is manufactured in AISI 316 stainless steel. The strong oxidant power of this reactor enables hydrocarbons reduction to lower than 0.1ppm. This provides an extremely low, flat and stable baseline for GC-FID analyzers, which enhances sensitivity and increases the limits of detection.
An internal temperature controller ensures that the catalytic reactor is constantly maintained at the optimum operating temperature. This in turn guarantees high hydrocarbon removal efficiency with 99% for methane (CH4), 99.5% for aromatics (BTX), C3 hydrocarbons and 99.9% for carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen (H2), ethylene and propylene.
