Product Description:
The major use of hydrogen is as a fuel gas for flame ionisation detectors (FID’s) utilised with gas chromatography. Hydrogen is also a viable alternative to helium as a GC carrier gas as it improves analysis speed and sensitivity, whilst also being a cost effective solution.
The CryoService range of hydrogen gas generators provides a genuine alternative to gas cylinder supply. Unlike gas cylinders, which require continuous changeover, our gas generators can run 24 hours a day if required. Therefore, the return on your investment can be realised within 18 months. Lower Lifetime Costs - Our patented copper-nickel (Ni-Cu) electrolytic cell offers cost benefits over the more conventional ion exchange membrane commonly used in other generators, as it is tolerant of water impurities and does not require continuous top ups of solution or the associated costs of replacing deionising bags. In addition, maintenance can be carried our on the Ni-Cu cell, which is not possible on exchange membranes. A complete replacement may be required in the case of a membrane and the cost can be almost 90% of the original equipment cost. Even if our Ni-Cu cell needs to be replaced the cost is significantly less at approximately 30% of the original equipment cost.
User-Friendly - Pressure and flow rates are clearly displayed on our easy to use electronic display. A unique maintenance option is also displayed to provide prior warning the generator will require maintenance. Our generators also have a number of inbuilt safety alarms advising of leaks, hydrogen overpressure and low level water. The safety alarms are indicated on the generator display and also through an audible alarm. If the alarm condition is not rectified, then the generator will shut down safely.
An external water feeding feature also means that our generators do not have to be switched off for water re-fill. There is also an enhanced ‘automatic loading pump’ option, which provides a continuous supply of water to the generator and reduces downtime even further.
Gas Purity Guaranteed - All of our hydrogen gas generators are supplied with a purity certification of 99.9995% (without filters) as all tubes and connectors are made of stainless steel. In addition, our dryer is also stainless steel to prevent pollution from ambient air due to material porosity.
